Joana De La Torre’s Portfolio

Born and raised in San Diego, CA, I study Mechanical Engineering at Yale University. I’m passionate about materials science, mechanical construction, manufacturing, and everything else that crosses my path. You’ll usually find me either conducting research in a lab, or at a machine shop working on a new project. I value hands on work and look forward to learning all there is in engineering. On this site, you can see a collection of my research and experience.

Professional Experience

Recent happenings…

After wrapping up my ‘24 summer, I am honored to have been a part of Prof. Pascal's amazing research alongside my mentor Tejas Nivarty. Excited to share that my research presentation on "Evaluating N2 vs Ar Purging for Hydrogen Reduction on a Dynamic Catalyst" secured 1st place at the UC San Diego undergraduate research conference for MRSEC's school of predictive assembly.

After becoming best friends with a potentiostat and wave form generator, I look forward to strengthening my understandings as I progress through my academic career. I would like to thank the UC San Diego MRSEC program for this opportunity, and my peers for making this a memorable summer!
